Who we are

Learning Outside the Lines was a project originally conceived by Harrell Fletcher, Michelle Swinehart and Molly Sherman, with Miranda July as a project advisor.

This version of the project is hosted by King School Museum of Contemporary Art (KSMoCA) and produced by KSMoCA members Harrell Fletcher, Lisa Jarrett, Roz Crews and Amanda Leigh Evans (website design), and the logo was made by MOE.

Why We’re Interested in this idea

In an era of contested educational reform policies, testing and standards have become household words to describe the learning process. We are interested in pedagogical experiences that challenge the mainstream norm of public education and offer new approaches to learning. Learning Outside the Lines highlights educational experiences that deviate from prescribed classroom curriculum.
